DivorceCare Support Group
August 9 - November 1 | St Aidan's Anglican Church
Our next DivorceCare support group will start on 9 August 2018 at 7:30pm – 9:00pm at the church. The group will meet each Thursday night for 13 weeks until 1 November 2018.
We also want to support your kids and help them process your separation or divorce. Find out more info about DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K) here.
Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. Our St Aidan’s Church DivorceCare course will help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.
You’ll learn practical strategies and information that will help you recover from your separation or divorce.
What to expect
DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help you face the challenges of divorce or separation and move towards rebuilding your life. Each session has two distinct elements:
1. A seminar with experts
During the first 30–40 minutes of the meeting, each DivorceCare group watches a video seminar featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies and on-location video. The topics include:
- What’s happening to me?
- The road to healing / Finding help
- Facing my anger
- Facing my depression
- Facing my loneliness
- What does the owner’s manual say?
- New relationships
- Financial survival
- Kid care
- Single sexuality
- Moving on, growing closer to God
2. A support group with focus
After viewing the video, DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members.
