Cnr Hillcrest and Landsdowne St Hurstville Grove NSW

Our next DivorceCare support group will start on 5 February 2019 at 7:30pm – 9:00pm at the church. The group will meet each Tuesday night for 13 weeks until 30 April 2019.

About

Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. Our Grove Church DivorceCare course will help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.

You’ll learn practical strategies and information that will help you recover from your separation or divorce.

What to expect

DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help you face the challenges of divorce or separation and move towards rebuilding your life. Each session has two distinct elements:

1. A seminar with experts

During the first 30–40 minutes of the meeting, each DivorceCare group watches a video seminar featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies and on-location video. The topics include:

  • What’s happening to me?
  • The road to healing / Finding help
  • Facing my anger
  • Facing my depression
  • Facing my loneliness
  • What does the owner’s manual say?
  • New relationships
  • Financial survival
  • Kid care
  • Single sexuality
  • Forgiveness
  • Reconciliation
  • Moving on, growing closer to God

2. A support group with focus

After viewing the video, DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members.
