February

Monday 4 February — Priscilla & Aquila Centre Conference

The Priscilla & Aquila Centre’s annual conference, held at Moore College, aims to encourage women in a variety of ministries and help people think about how men and women can work better in ministry. While aimed primarily at men and women in vocational ministry, everyone is welcome.

The 2019 theme is ‘The Complementarian Jigsaw: Gender, Ministry and the Local Church’. The two speakers are Graham Beynon and Jane Tooher, followed by two elective sessions.

Saturday 9 February — SRE Conference

The Youthworks SRE Conference is a training event for all primary and high school SRE (Scripture) teachers and helpers, whether new or experienced. Attendees have the opportunity to hear Bible teaching, pray, sing, develop skills and meet other SRE teachers.

The 2019 theme is ‘The Promised King’ and the speakers are the Rev Sandy Grant and Dr Kaye Chalwell. The day (at the King’s School) includes two talks and two electives.

Monday 11 February — EQUIP Nights

EQUIP nights aim to encourage women leading Bible study groups in their church, workplace, campus or home. Di Warren will be speaking on ‘Women’s ministry: What and why’ before taking an in-depth look at 1 Corinthians 12.

Saturday 16 February — Georges River Region Mission Launch and Prayer Evening

The Sydney Anglican Georges River Region, of which Grove Church is a part, is holding a mission launch and prayer evening from 7pm–9pm at Danebank Anglican Girls School. It is an opportunity to hear more about the 2020 regional mission, as well as pray for the Georges River Region in 2019.

 

March

Friday 8–Sunday 10 March — 10am Weekend Away

Grove Church’s 10am service will have their weekend away at the Youthworks site in the Royal National Park. Save the date—more details to come!

 

Saturday 23 March — Men Meeting the Challenge

This annual men’s conference, held at the King’s School, is back with the theme ‘Stand Firm, Be Men of Courage, Be Strong’ and keynote speaker, Dominic Steele. The conference aims to address “the impact of a changing culture on the identity and roles of the man of God”.

A group from Grove Church will be buying tickets and attending the conference together.

April

Saturday 6 April — EQUIP Ministry Wives

EQUIP Ministry Wives brings together women with husbands working in ministry—whether that’s church, school, university, workplace, para-church organisations, ministry training programs, theological college, etc—for a day of teaching, encouragement and networking.

The 2019 theme is ‘Change’ and the two speakers are Bryson Smith and Cathy Sampson. A live stream is also available for those who can’t make it to St Anne’s Ryde Anglican Centre.

Friday 12–Sunday 14 April — KYCK

KYCK is a conference for high schoolers held in the Blue Mountains over three weekends. Grove Church’s CREST youth group will be attending KYCK #1 on the first weekend of the April school holidays, with CREST leaders organising tickets, accommodation, food and transport for the youth.

The 2019 theme is ‘Believe. Love. Remain.’ and the speakers, Hayden Smith, Ed Springer and Ed Sowden, will be talking from the Gospel of John.

Friday 19–Monday 22 April — Katoomba Easter Convention

Why not head up into the Blue Mountains for the Easter long weekend and attend the Katoomba Easter Convention? The conference offers programs for the whole family and plenty of opportunities to relax.

The 2019 theme is ‘The End of All Things: Life on the Edge of Eternity’ and the speakers are Peter Adam, Ray Galea, Geoff Harper and Tony Payne.

May

Friday 17–Sunday 19 May — 6pm Weekend Away

Grove Church’s 6pm service will have their weekend away at the Youthworks Blue Gum Lodge site in the lower Blue Mountains. Save the date—more details to come!

 

June

Saturday 22 June — EQUIP Women’s Conference

The EQUIP Women’s Conference is continuing there 1 Corinthians series this year with the theme ‘In the Spirit of Love’ from chapters 12–14. The conference offers daylight, twilight and livestream attendance options, as well as a teen conference running concurrently with the twilight session.

The 2019 speakers include Annabel Nixey, Caitlin Orr and Carmelina Read. The Grove Church women’s ministry team, SALI, will be running a livestream twilight event with afternoon tea and dinner at church.

Tuesday 25–Friday 28 June — EV Church Team Pastoring Conference

The Team Pastoring Conference held by EV Church gathers together Australian church leaders for four days of Bible talks, consultations, networking and training.

Friday 28–Saturday 29 June — Onward

Onward is a new event run by KCC that started in 2017. It is for high schoolers and adults, and aims to directly address cultural issues facing Christians in our society today.

July

Monday 8–Friday 12 July & Monday 15–Friday 19 July — CMS Camp MMM

CMS Camp MMM is a mission-minded camp for young people held in Katoomba that includes Bible teaching, activities and cross-cultural experiences. The senior high camp (8–12 July) is for youth in Years 10–12 and includes a study camp for Year 12 students, while the junior high camp (15–19 July) is for Years 7–9.

The 2019 theme is ‘Sharing hope in a hopeless world’ and the speakers are Peter Blair for senior high and Chris Jones for junior high.

August

Friday 2–Saturday 3 August & Saturday 10 August – BaseCamp Men’s Conference

BaseCamp is a conference for men run by KCC with two attendance options—an overnight retreat in the mountains or a one-day recharge in Sydney.

OneLove is a conference run by KCC and held in Sydney, aiming to teach and inspire women in their relationship with God.

Wednesday 11–Friday 13 September — Collaroy Retreat

Primarily for seniors, Grove Church’s Collaroy Retreat will be happening once again in 2019. Save the date—more details to come!

 

October

Monday 30 September–Friday 4 October — Leaders in Training (LIT)

LIT is a Youthworks training camp for high schoolers in Years 9–12 that encourages them to think about their faith, gifts and service to Jesus Christ. The spring camp also includes a study space for Year 12 students.
